Quest Stage Races
Quest Stage Races
As a natural progression from our relaxing, non-competitive trail running tours, we'll be offering Quest Stage Races (click to visit Quest Stage Races site) for those looking for a supported multi-day stage racing experience. Races will be 4 or 5 days in length and each race will be unique in its environment, topography, stage length and character. Some races may be geared more towards ultramarathon athletes with longer daily stages, while other races in the series may have shorter daily stages. The format will be similar to our tours: you run (or in this case race) and we'll transport your gear to the next evenings campsite or lodging facility.
For most of our stage races we'll be camping between stages with aid, gear transport and race management provided by Adventure Running Co. Competitors will be responsible for their own lodging and meals each evening. You may choose your own lodging option each night, but we will have a group camping area set aside each evening for competitors to gather, swap stories and camp.
Each competitor will have to carry a required amount of gear for each stage. Aid will be provided, but it will be minimal and runners will be more responsible for themselves while on the trail in a Quest Stage Race. These are journey runs where finding your own way in the most efficient manner possible is part of the allure, just as it was for the Voyaguers and explorers who followed these same trails centuries earlier. Times for each stage will be recorded with the winner having the lowest cumulative time for the stages in the race.

VoyageurQuest III set for August 2012!
Get ready for the third VoyageurQuest Stage Race in August 2012! VoyageurQuest will be a 4 day stage race on the Superior Hiking Trail overlooking mighty Lake Superior. For Quest Stage Races, we'll provide the stage routes and maps well in advance so you can begin preparing yourself and your gear for the race. In 2012 the Voyageur Quest will be run on the Superior Hiking Trail. Different sections of the Superior Hiking Trail and other trails used by the Voyageurs like the Grand Portage Trail and Border Route Trail may be used in future years. The Voyageur Quest route may change from year to year. Our 2012 edition will offer the same course as 2011.
